FAQ's

Here are some of the frequently asked questions

How much does it cost?

I offer personal training sessions for £45 per hour or £40 per hour when booking a block of six.

Do you offer a Free Consultation?

Yes I do. The purpose of the consultation is to gain a clear understanding of your goals that you wish to achieve from your exercise programme and to gather a complete health history, including any past or current injuries. From this I can draw up your short, medium and long-term goals that will be measured, monitored and altered as appropriate.

Should I speak to my doctor about this?

Before attending your consultation, you will be asked to complete a Pre-Exercise Questionnaire, which will be sent to you via email. This is simply for me to ensure that there are no reasons for you not to be exercising. It will also allow me to create a safe and effective exercise programme for you.

If I feel there is any reason why you should not commence an exercise programme, you will be given a form for your doctor to confirm whether it is appropriate for you to start a specified exercise programme.

I am super busy, how can we fit this all in?

I understand that everyone’s circumstances are different, so whilst I am happy to train you 5 days a week, if you want the odd ‘drop-in’ sessions to learn some new exercises, techniques or training systems to take away with you, or you just need that little kick of motivation, I’m happy to work with that too. For your convenience, I also offer Personal Training sessions at your own home, enabling you to maximise your available time.

What should I wear?

Wear breathable clothing and something you can move easily in and non-slip supportive trainers.

How long is a session?

Each session lasts an hour and will start with a warm up to prepare your body for the main session, a mobilisation of the major joints and muscles and some brief stretching. Each session ends with a cool down period and stretching.

What will I be doing in the sessions?

Depending on your goals and fitness levels, your programme may include free weights, body weight work, varied cardio, and resistance work. Whilst you will be working hard, your programme will be tailored to you and you will not be forced to do any exercises you detest.

I really cannot recommend Amy enough! After a prolonged period of injury/ stress/ weight gain I needed help getting back into exercise safely. At my first consultation I really felt like Amy "got me". She really listens, and is so thorough with making sure you're doing each exercise correctly to get the most benefit. A couple of months down the line and the work is paying off, and Amy has been so supportive throughout. If you're debating whether to give it a go, my advice is just do it, you won't regret it!
